Call me… What?

Lisette Coly, President of the Parapsychology Foundation

Wow! I am so excited that my “labor of love” in pulling together Eileen J. Garrett’s written transcripts of conversations and conjecture into manuscript form culminated in publication by Afterworlds Press, an imprint of White Crow Books, of CALL ME LUCIFER Dialogues with the Noble Stranger.”
Despite a tongue and cheek release date of Halloween in no way is the impact of the materials presented lessened. I am so grateful that the Editor, Dr. Gregory Shushan, a noted author himself of cultural and religious dimensions of NDEs and global experiences felt as I that this extraordinary document should be shared rather than lying dormant in Garrett’s personal family files.
I grew up as a teen aware of my grandmother’s conversations with an entity she referred most often to as “The Noble Stranger”. My mother, Eileen Coly, and myself as I matured would be pressed into stenographic duty to transcribe, type up and preserve these conversations often “hot off the press” immediately following these “visitations”. Mrs. G as we affectionately referred to her while in the office of PF, kept these experiences confidential and private only within the family and a small circle of trusted intimates which included such people as Emilio Servadio, Nandor Fodor and Aldous Huxley. Having in hand a mass of Noble Stranger material I was surprised to learn that in answer to a question Nandor Fodor suggested she ask him as to what she should call him, the entity responded “You can call me Lucifer”. Deeming that somewhat shocking to say the least and sensational she wisely kept her own counsel and continued to relegate these interludes to an ever growing file maintained by my mother and myself. I remember Garrett emphatically stating “I have enough trouble to contend with traveling around with those other characters (her controls) to add him to the mix!” I don’t blame her.

My discoveries mounted when taking stock of the contents of what I deem essentially “my mystery boxes”, within them I found the “Compendium of Guidance” detailing dictated advice which I also included in the manuscript ostensibly delivered by he or whatever it was that over the years engaged her in conversation. I resonated to much of the provided guidance especially when as many of you know I was immersed in the painful for me transfer of the Garrett Library into the very capable hands of Special Collections of the University of Maryland Baltimore County. While elated as to this fortuitous move I was personally somewhat broken hearted having spent a lifetime within its shelves. I had difficulty in letting go but then I read the entry “Millstones from the Past” which provided me great solace to read “Let us say that Millstones from the past are around your neck. My friend, if the good God called you to the long journey tomorrow, what would you do? You would recognize that you had to let it go would you not?…All right these things have been shall we say, a picture of your past, but you are not carrying them into the future…There is wisdom, direction and utility in this universe for you, and if you can therefore take hold of these things and stand down in this universe…you are beginning to free yourself bit by bit. Understand that all of mankind and you are an intrinsic part of the Greater Plan of the Universe.” Worked for me!
Perhaps in reading Call me Lucifer you can consider what you would do if you found yourself face to face with him?
